Mills hadn't done well against San Mateo recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Vikings walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bearcats. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Abigail Purvey paced Mills' offense, picking up six kills. Purvey were helped by Noelle Young and Kara Da Luz, who contributed eight assists each. Charlise Lee controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mills' win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for San Mateo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Mills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
