Last Friday, Thomas Jefferson strolled past Hopewell with points to spare, taking the game 35-20. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Thomas Jefferson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daeron Ferguson, who rushed for 183 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Robertson Jr, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Thomas Jefferson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 289 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Thomas Jefferson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Quameer Waters, Amare Gough, and Dominique Sauls picked up one apiece. Waters is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Lake Taylor 53-20. While losing is never fun, the Mighty Bookers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Titans are ranked 74th).

Thomas Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Booker T. Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
