Baseball Recap: Wando Beats Berkeley for Their Third Straight Win

Wando had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Berkeley Stags. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-4 last Tuesday.

Matthew Ogrzewalla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Wando's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Corbin Martens was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. Caleb Anderson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Wando's record now sits at 9-6. As for Berkeley, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-7.

Wando will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Stags: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
