Basketball Recap: Seguin Takes a Loss

Seguin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 62-41 to the Mansfield Timberview Wolves. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 793rd, while the Wolves are ranked 174th).

Mansfield Timberview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dani Milliner, who went 8 of 16 on her way to 23 points and three steals. Milliner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Viola Tadja, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Seguin's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Mansfield Timberview, their win bumped their record up to 16-12.

Seguin will challenge Cleburne at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mansfield Timberview, they will welcome Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
