Recap: Wapahani Raiders vs. Delta Eagles
Winning is just a little bit easier when you drain five more threes than your opponent, a fact the Wapahani Raiders proved on Friday. They walked away with a 48-35 win over Delta. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wapahani.
Leading Wapahani to victory were Emily Luce and Megan Luce. Luce scored 12 points along with 3 steals, while Luce scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Felder, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals.
Despite the loss, Delta saw an underclassman step up: Jillian Barr dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 blocks. Barr scored a full 57.1% of Delta's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Katelin Gann was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 7 rebounds.
Wapahani's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Delta, their loss dropped their record down to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wapahani won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Daleville at 7:30 p.m. on November 18th. Hopefully Daleville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
