Recap: Wapahani Raiders vs. Delta Eagles
Winning is just a little bit easier when you drain five more threes than your opponent, a fact the Wapahani Raiders proved on Friday. They walked away with a 48-35 win over Delta. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wapahani.
Leading Wapahani to victory were Emily Luce and Megan Luce. Luce scored 12 points along with 3 steals, while Luce scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Felder, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals.
Despite the loss, Delta saw an underclassman step up: Jillian Barr dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 blocks. Barr scored a full 57.1% of Delta's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Katelin Gann was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 7 rebounds.
Wapahani's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Delta, their loss dropped their record down to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wapahani won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Daleville at 7:30 p.m. on November 18th. Hopefully Daleville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday. As for Delta, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Yorktown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
