Volleyball Game Preview: Chatham Cavaliers vs. Dan River Wildcats + How To Watch

The Chatham Cavaliers will challenge the Dan River Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chatham will be strutting in after a victory while Dan River will be coming in after a defeat.

Dan River will be up against a hot Chatham team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Cavaliers put the hurt on William Campbell with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday.

Chatham's got stronger as the match went on, holding William Campbell to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15, 25-11.

Chatham relied on the efforts of Avery Norton, who had 19 assists and two aces, and Peyton Owen, who had four digs and three aces. That's the most digs Owen has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Chatham was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Dan River came up short against Gretna on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

While Dan River had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21, 25-19.

Dan River's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Chatham, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Chatham skirted past Dan River 3-2 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
