Softball Recap: Temple Christian Finds Home Field Redemption Against Christian Heritage Academy

There's no place like home for Temple Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They put the hurt on the Christian Heritage Academy Knights with a sharp 11-0 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Crusaders brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Reagan Hensley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Overstreet, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those hits were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paylin Harris, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2.

Temple Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Heritage Academy only posted an OBP of .118.

Temple Christian's record now sits at 2-3. As for Christian Heritage Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Temple Christian will welcome Amelia Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Christian Heritage Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
