Basketball Recap: Perquimans Pirates vs. Gates County Red Barons

Perquimans proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 36) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 win over the Gates County Red Barons. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 56-42 win two weeks ago.

Gates County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zebriya Woodley, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds. Woodley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Zoey Nowell was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.
