Football Game Preview: Seymour Panthers vs. Archer City Wildcats

Seymour is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Archer City a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Seymour Panthers will be playing at home against the Archer City Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Seymour came up short against Munday and fell 23-14.

Despite the defeat, Seymour saw an underclassman step up: sophomore SLADE TUCKER picked up 89 receiving yards and a pair of scores. TUCKER showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 52 yards.

Meanwhile, Archer City lost 50-24 to Petrolia on Friday.

Seymour's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Archer City, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-8.

Seymour couldn't quite get it done against Archer City when the teams last played back in November of 2024 as they fell 38-30. Thankfully for the Panthers, Landon Smith (who rushed for 219 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
