Springfield has won four straight games at home, while Field has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Spartans will welcome the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Wednesday, Springfield made easy work of Ravenna and carried off a 9-2 victory.

Lilli Stokes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kendall Crytzer and Bre Ruggiero did most of the damage at the plate: Crytzer went 3-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Ruggiero went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Crytzer has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Potter, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Springfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Field got the win against Norton on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-1. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Field, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Springfield suffered a grim 13-6 defeat to Field in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
