Softball Recap: West Hardin Triumphs

West Hardin took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Danbury, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. West Hardin narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Danbury 4-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Oilers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lexie Ramirez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shaylee Steele, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

West Hardin's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Danbury, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-5-1.

Coming up, West Hardin will be playing in front of their home fans against Spurger at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Danbury, they are taking a road trip to take on Deweyville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
