Football Recap: Columbia Wildcats vs. Vallivue Falcons

Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Vallivue Falcons, falling 42-0. The Wildcats lost against the Falcons in their previous head to head back in September of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 28-27 score last time.

Despite the loss, Columbia still got an impressive performance from Jackson Cheslak, who rushed for 127 yards. The dominant performance gave Cheslak a new career-high in rushing yards.

Columbia wouldn't let Vallivue keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Columbia can thank Gabe Tanner and Angel Arambula for forcing both of them.

A big part of Vallivue's win came down to the chemistry between Isaac Moore and his top target Onix Carson. Moore threw for 141 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes while Carson rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Ryker Oswald also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Vallivue, their record is now 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will host Canyon Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vallivue, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Nampa at 7:00 p.m. Vallivue's defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so Nampa's offense will have their work cut out for them.
