Basketball Recap: Yorktown Falls Despite Big Games from Connor Rowray and Jabin Barnes

Yorktown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Pendleton Heights Arabians, falling 66-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Arabians since January 31, 2019.

Jabin Barnes and Connor Rowray certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Barnes posted 13 points and six rebounds, while Rowray put up nine points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Burkholder, who scored eight points.

It was another big night for Cooper Sims, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 23 points for Pendleton Heights. Evan Mozingo was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 14 points.

Yorktown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Pendleton Heights, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yorktown has already played their next game (against Jay County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pendleton Heights has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Mississinewa.
