Baseball Game Preview: Miramonte Matadors vs. Las Lomas Knights

For the second straight game, Miramonte will face off against Las Lomas. The Matadors will host the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Miramonte's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Las Lomas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Miramonte didn't have quite enough to beat Las Lomas and fell 2-1.

Miramonte saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Hughes, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases. Hughes is becoming a predictor of the Matadors' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-15 when he doesn't). Another was Preston Rguem, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Miramonte has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Las Lomas, their win bumped their record up to 12-10-1.
