Volleyball Recap: Cahokia Comanches vs. Alton Redbirds
Cahokia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Alton Redbirds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comanches of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-12.
Cahokia lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being A?Liezsha Deloach, who had three aces and a block.
Berlyn Clayton had an outrageously good game for Alton as she had seven digs, three aces, and a block. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Ducey, who had four aces.
Cahokia's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Alton, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.
Cahokia's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Vernon is coming into the contest with three straight victories at home, so Cahokia will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Alton, they will square off against Edwardsville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Edwardsville has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
