Basketball Game Preview: Milton Black Panthers vs. Hughesville Spartans

The Milton Black Panthers and the Hughesville Spartans will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Milton and nine for Hughesville dating back to last season.

Last Wednesday, Milton took a blow against Jersey Shore, falling 70-30.

Meanwhile, Hughesville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 56-50 to Montoursville. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 508th, while the Warriors are ranked 247th).

Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Hughesville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Milton ended up a good deal behind Hughesville in their previous meeting back in February, losing 72-56. Can Milton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
