Basketball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

Manchester came up into this matchup off a tough 56-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Sand Creek Aggies by a score of 25-23 on Monday. The Flying Dutchmen's loss continues a trend for the team, making it ten in a row.

Sand Creek had a senior duo take command as Faith Beardmore went 6-for-14 to rack up 12 points and six rebounds and Carley Allen posted five points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Beardmore a new career-high in points. Makayla Six also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steals of the season.

Manchester's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Sand Creek, their win ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-13.

Manchester has already played their next game, a 56-18 victory against Vandercook Lake on the 5th. As for Sand Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-21 loss against Morenci on the 7th.
