Baseball Preview: Zanesville Blue Devils vs. Northridge Vikings

The Zanesville Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Northridge Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Zanesville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 15-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Zanesville made easy work of Claymont and carried off a 9-2 victory.

Preston Moorehead spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't pitched less than six innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Greyson Goines was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Mahki Murray, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-0 to Heath, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Zanesville's win bumped their record up to 3-10-1. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
