Recap: Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks vs. Eastern Mennonite Flames
The Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eastern Mennonite 71-41 at home. Winning may never get old, but Miller School of Albemarle sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miller School of Albemarle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reece Hagy, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Elijah Kelly was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Eastern Mennonite still got an impressive performance from Drew Hatter, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Prodigy Simms, who scored 14 points.
Eastern Mennonite struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Miller School of Albemarle pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Miller School of Albemarle is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Eastern Mennonite, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6.
Miller School of Albemarle will head out on the road to square off against Virginia Episcopal School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 67.96 points so far this season, Miller School of Albemarle's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Virginia Episcopal School better be ready for a challenge. Eastern Mennonite's road trip will continue as they head out to face New Covenant at 6:30 p.m. on February 8th. One thing working in New Covenant's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
