Soccer Game Preview: Long County vs. Johnson

The Long County Blue Tide will venture away from home to take on the Johnson Atomsmashers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Long County has three straight victories, Johnson has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Long County's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Savannah Christian with a sharp 4-0 win. Fans of the Blue Tide have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Meanwhile, Johnson fell victim to Vidalia and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Indians. That's two games in a row now that the Atomsmashers have lost by exactly ten goals.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Long County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Long County took their win against Johnson in their previous meeting back in February of 2020 by a conclusive 9-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Long County since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
