Baseball Game Preview: Mulberry Panthers vs. Pine Ridge Panthers

Mulberry will face off against Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Mulberry has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Mulberry is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Eustis 5-4.

Coby Anker looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nic Partridge was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. AJ Medina was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Pine Ridge came out on top against Vanguard on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Panthers put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 11-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Sam Figueroa, who went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Abiezer Robledo, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Mulberry is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pine Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 13-9-2.
