Football Recap: IMG Academy Skates Past Mandarin with Ease

IMG Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Mandarin Mustangs 57-7. The Ascenders pushed the score to 50-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had no chance of recovering from.

IMG Academy can attribute much of their success to Jayden Wade, who rushed for 46 yards and one score, and also threw for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes. Le'Khy Thompkins was another key player, gaining 67 total yards and two touchdowns.

IMG Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Amarri Irvin, Ksani Jiles, and Censere Gaylord picked up one apiece. Gaylord has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last three times he's played.

IMG Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Mandarin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

IMG Academy has already played their next game, a 49-14 win against Central on the 26th. As for Mandarin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-13 victory against First Coast on the 26th.
