Football Game Preview: Nova Titans vs. Cooper City Cowboys

The Nova Titans will challenge the Cooper City Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Nova's defense has only allowed 7.9 points per game this season, so Cooper City's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Nova proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 20) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They pulled ahead with a 19-18 photo finish over Pembroke Pines Charter.

Dezrihana Medina had another great game (as she tends to do), rushing for 137 yards and one TD on only nine carries, while also throwing for 180 yards and one touchdown while completing 72% of her passes. Her longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain her lofty yards per carry total. 90 of Medina's passing yards were hauled in by Loursenie Pascal.

Meanwhile, Cooper City earned a 14-6 win over Archbishop McCarthy on Wednesday.

Cooper City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaeden Cavanagh and Michelle David.

Cooper City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.8 points on average over those games. As for Nova, their record is now 10-4.

Everything came up roses for Nova against Cooper City in their previous meeting back in February, as the squad secured a 34-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
