Basketball Recap: Mark Otrotsyuk's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bella Vista over Oakmont

Bella Vista was the 56-40 winner over Oakmont when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bella Vista Broncos took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oakmont Vikings on Friday. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bella Vista lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mark Otrotsyuk, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points and four steals. Otrotsyuk is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Iwamasa, who posted eight points and six assists.

Bella Vista's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Oakmont, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Bella Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-47 defeat against Ponderosa on the 14th. As for Oakmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-43 loss against Lincoln on the 14th.
