Basketball Recap: Cassville Comes Up Short

Cassville lost against Highland back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cassville Comets had to suffer through a 88-49 loss at the hands of the Highland Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Cardinals are ranked 61st).

Cassville moved to 5-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Highland, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Cassville has already played their next match (against River Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Highland will take on Potosi at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Potosi has won five straight at home, while Highland won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
