Basketball Game Preview: Jellico Blue Devils vs. Williamsburg Yellow Jackets

The Jellico Blue Devils and the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Jellico's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

On Friday, Jellico came up short against Sunbright and fell 69-61.

Despite their loss, Jellico saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Trey Vann, who shot 44% from the field on his way to 16 points and seven boards, was perhaps the best of all. Vann is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Gavin Dabney was another key player, putting up 15 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Williamsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Middlesboro, falling 75-47.

Jellico's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Williamsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

Things could have been worse for Jellico, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 93-78 loss to Williamsburg when the teams last played back in January of 2020. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
