Basketball Recap: West Nassau Sets Scoring Season-High Against Union County + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Nassau). They took down the Union County Fightin' Tigers 58-39 on Monday. The Warriors pushed the score to 45-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Fightin' Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Despite the loss, Union County still got an impressive performance from Iamorieah Williams, who shot 40% from the field on her way to 21 points and eight boards. Latoya Hampton was another key player, putting up eight points.

The victory made it two in a row for West Nassau and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 57 points in those games. As for Union County, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, West Nassau will square off against Keystone Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 20.2 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Union County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hawthorne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
