Baseball Recap: Liberty Christian Academy Triumphs

Liberty Christian Academy won the last time they faced New Life Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Heat came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Heat.

Braedon Martin made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. Martin was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas Bell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Landon Houston was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

The win got Liberty Christian Academy back to even at 4-4. As for New Life Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty Christian Academy will face off against Wayne Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Life Christian Academy, they will take on Riverside Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
