Recap: Prairie Lea Indians vs. Pettus Eagles
The Prairie Lea Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 63-51 to Pettus. Prairie Lea was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pettus apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Pettus found their leader in underclassman Ramon Reyna, who scored 25 points. Reyna is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matt Hernandez, who scored 15 points.
Prairie Lea's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Pettus, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-13.
Prairie Lea will be playing in front of their home fans against Austwell-Tivoli at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Austwell-Tivoli has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 203 points over their last three matchups. As for Pettus, they will head out on the road to square off against Nordheim at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Nordheim has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
