Basketball Game Preview: New Trier Trevians vs. Lane Tech Champions

The New Trier Trevians and the Lane Tech Champions will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. New Trier is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, New Trier strolled past Deerfield with points to spare, taking the game 54-40.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lane Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 74-62 win over Padua Franciscan on Friday. Given the Champions' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 72nd in Illinois, while the Bruins are ranked 208th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Trier pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lane Tech, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

New Trier came up short against Lane Tech in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, falling 57-47. Can New Trier avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
