Softball Recap: Tri-Township Takes a Loss

Tri-Township had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-12 to make it 11. They came up short against the Rensselaer Central Bombers, falling 19-0. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bombers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

As for Rensselaer Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7. Considering they have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Rensselaer Central's part, the team relied heavily on Brooke Koebcke, who fired off three triples, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Koebcke continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Kylie Spencer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Looking ahead, Tri-Township will challenge Morgan Township at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rensselaer Central, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Kouts at 4:45 p.m.
