Basketball Game Preview: Hope Bobcats vs. Nashville Scrappers

Hope hasn't had much luck against Nashville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hope Bobcats will take on the Nashville Scrappers at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hope is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 31st straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Magnolia 67-24. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Panthers are ranked 69th).

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Nashville's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 56-36 to De Queen. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Scrappers have suffered since December 17, 2024.

Nashville's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 18-7. As for Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.

Hope took a serious blow against Nashville when the teams last played back in January, falling 82-16. Can Hope avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
