Softball Recap: South Sioux City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Benson on Tuesday, South Sioux City came back down to earth. The Cardinals lost 16-3 to the Auburn Bulldogs on Saturday.

Payton Derochie was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

South Sioux City's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Auburn, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

South Sioux City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against North Andrew on the 13th. As for Auburn, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Freeman on the 13th.
