Softball Recap: West Lincoln Sets Scoring Season-High Against Patton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Lincoln). They put the hurt on the Patton Panthers with a sharp 18-7 victory on Wednesday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Abree Sutton and Payton Hood did most of the damage at the plate: Sutton went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Hood scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave Hood a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Carpenter, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

West Lincoln hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 4-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

West Lincoln now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Patton, their record now sits at 3-5.

Coming up, West Lincoln will take on East Burke at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Patton, they will square off against Mitchell at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Patton has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
