Basketball Recap: Northridge Piles Up the Points Against Goshen

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northridge had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Goshen RedHawks 63-21. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 23 points or more this season.

Northridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Scholl, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points and four steals. Scholl is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games she's played. Ella Mohamed was another key player, going 5 for 8 to rack up 12 points and three steals.

Northridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goshen only posted five assists.

The win (which was Northridge's fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points over those games. As for Goshen, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Northridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-54 loss against Warsaw on the 8th. Goshen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
