Soccer Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 4-0 to the Valley Center Hornets. While losing is never fun, Newton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Valley Center are ranked 17th).

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Valley Center, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Newton has already played their next matchup (against Maize), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Valley Center, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Andover Central on the 17th.
