Basketball Game Preview: Marathon Dolphins vs. Moore Haven Terriers

The Marathon Dolphins will take on the Moore Haven Terriers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Marathon sitting on three straight victories and Moore Haven on ten.

Marathon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They strolled past Fort Meade with points to spare, taking the game 39-22.

Marathon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daysi Williams, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 14 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Williams is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Marti'Yana Kilbourn was another key player, putting up five points along with 11 rebounds and six steals.

Marathon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Moore Haven beat Pahokee 49-43 on Thursday.

Moore Haven pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.9 points. As for Marathon, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
