The matchup between Morro Bay and Lindsay on Friday hardly resembled the 7-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Pirates blew past the Cardinals 52-24. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Morro Bay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sands Dougherty led the charge by throwing for 346 yards and six touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 42 yards. That's the most passing touchdowns Dougherty has posted since back in September of 2024. Anthony Campanario did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 176 receiving yards.

Morro Bay's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Lindsay's side was Radden Batalla, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 13 total tackles.

Morro Bay now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lindsay, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
