Football Game Preview: Stroud Tigers vs. Meeker Bulldogs

The Stroud Tigers will face off against the Meeker Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stroud's defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Meeker's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Meeker will be up against a hot Stroud squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Kellyville 54-0. That 54 point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Jacob Beck continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 169 yards and four scores on only six carries, while also picking up 50 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Cropp, who threw for 99 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight passes.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Stroud's defense and their five sacks. Kellyville's QB won't forget Kaleb Aylor anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Meeker and Luther had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs came up short against the Lions on Friday, falling 34-14. Bulldogs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Lions since Friday.

Although Meeker took the loss, they still got scores from Ashton Tunget and Gunnar Enochs.

Meeker's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Stroud, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Stroud against Meeker in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 65-32 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bulldogs' Treyvon Compton, who rushed for 60 yards and three scores, and also threw for 152 yards and one touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Tigers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
