Baseball Recap: Thales Academy Apex Has No Trouble Against St. Thomas More Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Thales Academy Rolesville, Thales Academy Apex was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors 12-2. Considering the Titans have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylan Sheldon made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Thales Academy Apex: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

In other batting news, James Speight was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Louie Olsen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Thales Academy Apex was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Thales Academy Apex's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for St. Thomas More Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
