Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Piedmont). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 82-79 win over the University Red Devils on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Highlanders have posted since February 20, 2024.

The win (which was Piedmont's third in a row) raised their record to 8-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for University, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piedmont will welcome Bishop O'Dowd at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for University, they will be playing at home against San Domenico at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. University knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully San Domenico likes a good challenge.
