Baseball Recap: Columbia Wildcats vs. Amite School Center Rebels
Columbia put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 15-2 margin over the Amite School Center Rebels. The victory was familiar territory for Columbia who now have four in a row.
Brayden Thornhill looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Columbia got a massive performance out of Walker Hobgood, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Mac McDaniel, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Columbia pushed their record up to 17-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Amite School Center, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Amite School Center, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Parklane Academy at 2:00 p.m.
