Cannon had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Charlotte Christian on Friday. The Cannon Cougars blew past the Charlotte Christian Knights 94-73. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Cannon was led to victory by Sean Nix and Evan Ingram. Nix went 13-for-22 to rack up 34 points, while Ingram dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nix has scored at least a third of Cannon's points. Brady Sheir also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

Cannon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Charlotte Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Marshall Nicholson, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in field goal percentage (86%). Another player making a difference was Jack Schonberg, who posted 12 points.

Cannon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Charlotte Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-20.

Cannon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-76 win against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on the 11th. Charlotte Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
