Recap: South Summit Wildcats vs. San Juan Broncos
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the South Summit Wildcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 43-28 bruising from San Juan on Saturday. South Summit's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trey Stembridge, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Bracken Lassche, who threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns.
Even if they lost, South Summit's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: San Juan's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. San Juan's QB won't forget Brady Freeman anytime soon given Freeman sacked him three times.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Juan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zack Conway, who rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Conway was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Jake Ivins did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 97 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
South Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for San Juan, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0.
South Summit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. San Juan also has no future games currently scheduled.
