Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Tre Peterson Evans and Lucas Williams Lead Cassopolis to Victory

Cassopolis won the last time they faced Decatur and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cassopolis Rangers blew past the Decatur Raiders 58-34. That 24 point margin sets a new team best for the Rangers this season.

Cassopolis was led to victory by Lucas Williams and Tre Peterson Evans. Williams almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals, while Peterson Evans posted 15 points and three steals. Peterson Evans has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Ayden Gillam was another key player, putting up six points along with seven assists and five boards.

The win made it two in a row for Cassopolis and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Decatur, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cassopolis will take on White Pigeon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Decatur, they will venture away from home to challenge Bangor at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Decatur is facing Bangor at the right time seeing as Bangor is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
