Soccer Game Preview: Granbury vs. Saginaw

Granbury is 2-8 against Saginaw since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Rough Riders at 7:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Granbury turned things around against Fossil Ridge on Thursday. Neither they nor the Panthers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Granbury's first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, Saginaw hasn't lost a match since January 9th, a trend which continued in their latest game two weeks ago. They played to a draw too, finishing 1-1 against Parkland.

Saginaw's draw makes their record 3-2-2 this season. As for Granbury, they moved theirs to 4-6-1.

Granbury suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Saginaw in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Pirates were down 5-0.
