Preview: Lovejoy Leopards vs. Sherman Bearcats
Lovejoy is 8-2 against Sherman since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lovejoy Leopards will be playing at home against the Sherman Bearcats at 5:45 p.m. Lovejoy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Lovejoy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 83-12 victory over Greenville. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Lovejoy has managed all season.
Sherman suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against McKinney North, falling 67-25. While losing is never fun, Sherman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 730th, while McKinney North is ranked 34th).
Lovejoy's victory bumped their record up to 19-12. As for Sherman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
Lovejoy took their victory against Sherman when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 62-37. With Lovejoy ahead 38-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
