Softball Recap: Kankakee Has No Trouble Against Thornwood

Kankakee never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Thornwood Thunderbirds as they made off with an 18-0 victory. The game marked the Kays' most dominant win of the season.

Kylie Glogowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Glogowski was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Annika Van Heemst was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Calleigh Moody was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Kankakee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Kankakee and bumps their season record up to 7-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Thornwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Kankakee will head out to square off against Rich Township at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
