Basketball Recap: Poquoson Takes a Loss

Poquoson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warhill Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Islanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-41 back in January.

Warhill's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden McLean, who posted 11 points. Kristopher McDonough Ii was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Poquoson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Warhill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Grafton the next time they take the court. Poquoson will host Grafton at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Warhill will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
