Softball Recap: Montebello Takes a Loss

Montebello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Mark Keppel Aztecs, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Oilers of the 19-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Montebello's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Mark Keppel, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montebello will take on Bellflower in a tournament on Saturday. Montebello is facing Bellflower at the right time seeing as Bellflower is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Mark Keppel, they will venture away from home to face off against El Monte at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mark Keppel's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
